Help Lucky Dog Animal Rescue provide critical vet care to our nearly 1,900 animals each year. Every year Lucky Dog spends approximately $260,000 on vet care for our rescued animals, and the vet care credit from Friendship Animal Hospital will help us significantly offset veterinary expenses and provide funding to save MORE lives. Each year Lucky Dog partners with Food and Friends to provide meals to area residents battling critical illnesses. Thank you for helping us meet our goal of selling 400 pies, providing $8,000 in critical vet care and 400 meals -- Together we can SAVE MORE!

This Thanksgiving, Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and Friendship Hospital for Animals are teaming up to support people and pets in need!  For every holiday pie you purchase, a person battling serious illness will receive breakfast, lunch or dinner, AND for every 25 pies sold, Lucky Dog will receive a $500 credit from Friendship Hospital for Animals. Support TWO worthy causes with one purchase!

So here's how it works:

  • For every 25 Slice of Life pies purchased through our link, we receive $500 worth of vet services from Friendship Hospital for Animals. Up to $20,000! Donations do not count towards vet care credits.
  • Click "Buy Pies" and choose one or all of the options below:
    • Donate pies to Food & Friends clients.
    • Buy pies for your Thanksgiving dinner
    • Buy pies for friends and family

Pies can be picked up on Tuesday, November 26 from 12:00 PM-8:00 PM at 30+ locations throughout DC, Maryland, and Virginia.

Don't live in the DC metro area? You can still help by donating a pie to a Food & Friends' client through our pie page Slice of Life.

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a nonprofit, volunteer-powered animal rescue that saves homeless and abandoned dogs and cats from certain euthanasia.  Without a facility of our own, Lucky Dog relies on an incredible network of volunteer foster parents and incredible volunteers to care for our animals.  We also depend on our veterinary partners, like Friendship Hospital for Animals, for life-saving care for our pets.

Six days a week, Food & Friends home-delivers nutritious meals to thousands of people in our community who are too sick to shop for groceries and prepare meals. Your support helps Food & Friends deliver nearly 3,000 meals a day to our neighbors living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other serious illnesses free of charge.

**Remember, each pie you purchase will provide breakfast, lunch and dinner for one client battling a serious illness, AND every 25 pies gives Lucky Dog a $500 credit for care at Friendship.
